The Electric Car Company of Long Beach Opens Electric Vehicle Showroom

Signal Hill, CA – The Electric Car Company of Long Beach today announced the opening of its neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) showroom at 2698 Junipero Avenue, #106, Signal Hill, CA. 

Co-owner, Pete Barsky said that he believes the showroom to be the first in southern California dedicated exclusively to sales and service of neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs) and accessories. “We’re passionate about the viability of the NEV as a means of local transportation. They are economical, low maintenance, non-polluting and a fun alternative to fossil fuel burning vehicles…and they require little in the way of maintenance and support”, he added.

The Electric Car Company of Long Beach opened its doors representing three leading NEV manufacturers: Cart-Rite, Columbia Par Car and Dynasty. Each product line includes models designed for personal, as well as commercial use.

“We originally thought that most of our customers would come from the personal transportation market, but have found a large market in commercial applications, as well. Land developers, universities, shopping malls and entertainment companies have all expressed interest in purchasing NEVs from The Electric Car Company of Long Beach. NEVs are also a favorite of parents with teenagers because the slower speeds and limited routes make these a great first car for new drivers. “Basically, once a customer sees the need for an NEV, we have an economical solution that will satisfy it. “, said Barsky.

When asked how he got involved in this business, Barsky said that he recognized the need for a local dealer to sell NEVs when he attempted to purchase one for his own use and found very limited choices. “It seemed that NEVs were being sold as an afterthought, either the company primarily sold golf carts, or they were a car dealer that had one model of NEV, and rarely did they have one to test drive.” “We thought it would be a great idea to have choices for different tastes and budgets”, he added. “And, so The Electric Car Company was born.”
